hello gmatclub,
i just finished my third gmat attempt hoping to put a nail in the coffin and score at least a 660+ as i studied religiously every day for 2.5 hours and 3.5 hours on weekends. the end result was Q41 V26.
my breakdown:
mgmat 1 660 sept/oct i think
mgmat 2 660 oct
mgmat 3 680 nov
mgmat 4 690 Q49 V35 nov
gmat prep 660 Q45 V35 1/26
gmat prep 580 Q44 V26 2/3 (couldn't finish the verbal section as the public library had a fire alarm go off so everyone had to evacuate)
gmat prep 670 Q49 V34 2/9 (reinstalled the program)
gmat prep 690 Q49 V35 2/14 (reinstalled the program)
i was hoping to apply to both usc pm and ucla femba for 2013 but with my highest gmat score of 600, i doubt its even worth applying. im afraid if i retake the exam, i will score even lower. i did work on my weakness and review my error log after my second attempt. i also revised my notes, reread some of the mgmat guides, watched thursdays with ron, etc. for some reason, i cant do well the gmat. the exam is the only thing thats preventing me from applying. what else should i do to improve my score?

It looks like you have some gaps in fundamentals. You should spend time filling those gaps. Understanding concepts does not cut it on the GMAT - you need mastery of the basic skills before you can even think to perform well.

TIMING - Work on timing. There are lots of timing schemes on this site..look for one that fits you... Proper timing can easily increase or decrease your score 50-70 points alone.
Proper timing means you need to work on your math/english fundamentals. Find shortcuts in the math. 9/10 there's an easier way to do a math problem. English, read, read, read, read.....Verbal is a life skill. Its takes time to improve...
Anyways, search the forums to find ways that best fits you....
I got a Math tutor (Stats Master), he showed me shortcuts that made 700 level questions easy...1min or less..AMAZING!
