hi all: another quiet lurker, who recently scored a 640 (q42/v35) after 8 months of study (550 hours of prep, largely on quant side). i am targetting a top 15 school and will apply in round 2. my weakness is quant (zero quant background - academically, professionally, and personally). i've been working with a private tutor for the past 3 months, but need to break and self prep, due to financial challenges. i've scheduled my 2nd test a month from now and must get my quant score to, at least, a Q45 in order to be competitive.
Please help; I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so very much in advance.
Going from 42 to 45 shouldnt be very tough

You can start by reading all the
MGMAT quant books. They are a great source of all information required on the GMAT.
Also, from your mock tests, analyse your weak areas.
Startign solving 600-700 level questions on gmatclub for those topics.
Also, see the trends froom your mocks if you are weak at PS or at DS and concentrate accordingly.
Just a week of concentrated effort can give you the 3 point increase which you are looking for ...
And most importantly, have faith

You can do anything you want to !!
