Hi,
Guys
I recently gave my gmat and improved from my first attempt score of 600( Q 45, V 28) to second attempt score
700 ( Q 48 V 38). I dont think its a great score to gag about, but certainly there are few things I have observed and I want to share. Please note this is my observation and may not work for everyone. I will keep it short, if there are any queries I will answer them separately:-
1. In verbal keep your cool. Focus on accuracy , dont just try to complete the test . There are no marks for attempting all questions. I mean dont just guess if you have less time, instead it is better to solve correctly and skip couple of questions if you are running short on time.
2. This has been said earlier, but first 10-12 questions matter. Fight them with your best weapons.
3. If you are running short on time skip later questions( 32-41), they do less damage than earlier questions. If you dont believe me try this on GMAT prep. But yes dont skip all
4. For all non-natives struggling with verbal, I would recommend e-gmat. They cover each topic in depth. There are certain concepts, which other books, unlike e-gmat, assume that you already know. Once you are done with the course, try GMAT prep question bank. The software has over 1000 verbal questions. Unfortunately, you cant access them all. Therefore, try this question banks. They are available on GMATclub. I think that is more than sufficient for verbal.
5. Prepare thoroughly for quant. It is shade difficult than GMAT prep.
6. On exam, Pl dont waste time on questions you have no clue about. Recognize and skip as early as you can.
I think that is all. Thank you and good luck.
