HI All!
I have been a silent reader over here, but now i need all of your advice for my GMAT Retake.
Well, In my mock CATs, I scrored 620 (Manhattan), 690(Kaplan) & 650(GMAC Official), But in the actual GMAT last week, i ended up with a score of 600 (Q49, V23)
. In my mocks, i have been really consistent about Quant (47-51) while i have been really struggling on Verbal (23-32). As a matter of fact when i do practice questions, i get some about 75-85% accuracy, but i really mess up during Mocks. Now because of my low score, i am thinking of writting my GMAT again in month of Dec or Jan, however i need some advice on what i need to do for my retake. FYI, i have gone through Manhattan SC and RC guides and Powerscore CR.
One more thing i would like to know is whether it is advisable to apply in 3rd round..Btw i am into IT consulting with 8 yrs of work experience post graduation, am mostly looking for a one year MBA in Europe.

Doesn't look like u need to put much effort in quant when studying for the retake. Just focus on verbal. Have u analyzed what ur weakness is from the mock tests? MGMAT tests provide a good analysis that shows ur weaknesses which u can then work on.
How focused r u when u read content? Do u have to reread sometimes? Do u lose focus sometimes just becoz u think that u r in a race against time? If that is the case, practice reading by spend time reading the economist and the new scientist. This will help a great deal with RC. Then pickup the question pack 1 questions since those would be new questions for u and try the RC passages. If u get RC questions wrong after answering questions to a passage, retread the passage and answer the questions again. Sometimes the passage changes directions and those can be key to make a note of. Also don't end up writing everything when u read passages, only the main details.
Do u analyze each answer choice of an SC question? Do u try to understand the meaning of the SC question? Finally, in CR, only write down the conclusion. Try to prethink. CR questions can take 3 mins, so it's key to nail SC in 1 min or less w/ accuracy. Question pack 1 is a great resource for the verbal questions and I also highly recommend using prep 3 and. 4 if not already tried.

Thanks Amitasks for taking your time to reply. And you have pointed the right set of things. I am not a very active reader and have not read much of content Post graduation. When the content is difficult, i tend to reread at times, also at times loose focus. I tried the habit of taking notes, but then i tend to loose focus by doing that. So for RC, i try to finish reading quickly and jump over the questions with a moderate apprehension. But when two options are very close, i end answering the wrong one,
Actually on Sc, i understand the meaning, point mistakes and do a split\resplit to reach the answers. But my accuracy is only 55%. The same goes with CR. Mostly under exam circumstances i have made more mistakes and believe that this needs to be improved.
However, what do you mean by Verbal pack 1 and prep 3\prep 4? Never heard about them.
