I started preparing for the GMAT in last week of Dec'13. I had my GMAT today and scored a meagre 520. Q40 and V21!
IR 6. I was ok with the quant score(it was as per my expected range) but the verbal was a huge disappointment. I totally got bogged down with the timing in the verbal section when I started the verbal section and had to rush through many questions.
I used all the official material for study - GMAT prep, GMAT prep question bank, OG 13,
MGMAT tests, powersons CR bible for CR etc
I also scored a consistent 680 on GMAT Prep cat1 and cat 2. scored a 690 on
MGMAT. All this was taken around 4-5 days before the GMAT exam.
I was anyways never keen to break the 700 barrier; was happy with scoring between 650-680; but now a score of 520 has left me shattered.
Although I need to retake the exam, I feel very let down to begin the prep again.
Previously, in 2009 I had taken the GRE exam and had a score of 1300 in it. Also had taken the IELTS exam and had a score of 8.0. I trust that my English does not suck; having studied in English Medium through out and also being an Avid reader and a creative writer.
Anyone has any advise on how to get set on the path again? or will this score lead me anywhere? I am not looking to apply to any Ivy league business schools and was planning for an executive full time mba in India starting next year 2015.
