I took the GMAT today and got a score of 680 ( IR-8, Verbal -34, Quant-49 )

Yes to all. Since you are applying for YLP i am guessing you have less than 2 years of work-ex. Increase your GMAT score and add on some more work-ex to your profile.
Although everyone talks about 80 percentile range, honestly that stuff works only for extra-ordinary profile. Ask yourself do you have an extra-ordinary profile, and will you be able to communicate it well in your essays,if not the better start working again on GMAT.
Your GMAT is below average score for all your target school, better be safe and be in the above average zone than below average.

Yes, I agree. Definitely aim to improve your score to at least the schools' average GMAT scores. You might be able to score yourself that coveted acceptance letter if your application is truly exceptional though.
