Hi guys, I just bombed the gmat last friday and I was completely surprised.
Score Background:
April
MGMAT (530, 37q and 27v)
May
MGMAT (670, 45q and 36v)
May
MGMAT (620, 40q and 35v)
June GMAT PREP (590, 39q, and 32v)
June GMAT PREP (610, 42q, and 32v)
June GMAT Prep (690, 46q, and 38v) ( I got repeated questions)
Real exam (510, 40q, 21v)as you can see the 21 in verbal is the lowest score I have ever had in verbal. I am completely frustrated and I dont know what to do or study.
I have done all the blue book OG verbal questions, as well as the OG 13 verbal questions. For quant I have studied the
MGMAT books which work preatty well.
But my problem is verbal, I mean I guess my mos important thing I wanted to ask you is what should I do or study this next month? Should I just do the same thing? as in doing problems, doing them timed, writing notes etc.... do practice exams a lot? I just dont want to wast another month doing the same thing as I have been doing for the past few months and expect a different result in the exam.
Please experts, if you could comment on my above paragraph. Could it be I just had and "off" day? I mean from low 30's to low 20´s is a very big difference, thats why im finding it difficult to see what went wrong?
During the exam I was very disciplined on timing, I acctually though I was doing OK not very good but OK during the verbal part. I got a RC in the 4th question.
I think that I could of taken the exam bit light, in the sense that I knew I could take it again later----but again, that doesnt make up for a 21v when I was scoring consitantly above 30´s in my practice exams.
Could it be that I just need more practice taking the exam? In that case I can take an exam every other 3 days etc... maybe that would help me?
Im planning on taking the exam again in early August, however Im very confused as to what to do on the verbal part.
Regarding quant, I could say I am currently in the low 40´s level and need to take it up to 45. For that I will hit the
MGMAT books as well as the OG 13 and green quant book from OG.
Thanks and I really appreciate any help out there.
best
Oloman
