Hello - I am one of those GMAT club "stalkers", whose been lurking around for the past week or two, reading your message boards. Needless to say, great advices and test taking strategies are plentiful in this board. Hence, I seek your suggestions:
I have been studying the GMAT for the past two weeks (mainly on the weekends for 3-4hrs/day) and am planning to give the GMAT a go on October 4. I have taken two Kaplan CATs so far and found my results to be fairly sub par.
I consider myself strong quantitatively and got a scaled score of 50 in both practice tests with about 12-15 minutes to spare. However, my verbal scores were horrible. Scaled score was 32 on the first one and 28 on the second one.
English is my 5th language; at the same time, it is my primary language also, since I've lived in this country for 7 years. My main weakness is reading comprehension. I find the passages to be intricate and complex, and more often, I lose focus while reading through them.
What are some of the learning strategies for the RCs that you can share with me? I would especially welcome advice from non-native speakers of English, who could perhaps be more empathetic to my situation...
