Hey there !
Truly your journey has been a bit bumpy, but its hard to understand how you got 410 when things went fine.
Anyways, whats done is done, so I would suggest don't loose heart.
Yes, the schools definitely receive all your scores but mostly consider the latest one. In case they see that one of your scores is really low, they might actually ask you why is that (assuming you get somewhere between 600 & 650 next time) and there you might have your chance to explain.
GRE is not an easy exam as well and it needs lot of preparation and practice to get good scores. Its upto you to decide if you want to take it, but my personal suggestions is GMAT is easier choice. (unless you are quite confident about GRE)
Not sure about your profile, Was GMAT going to be your strong point ? or you have different cards to play ?
If you have other things, then it doesn't boil down to the only fact that you had low score once.
If your positives can overshadow your scores, still the job is done. So you still have a shot !
Also, depends on which schools you are targeting.
So don't loose hope and keep the journey continued with more hardwork.
I am sure you will do good.
All the best !
Cheers !

My GMAT journey has been a bumpy one! On August 16th I took the test after roughly 2 months of studying. I felt slightly under prepared but told myself I had enough time to retake if necessary and that the experience of taking an official exam would be beneficial. Well, not surprisingly I scored poorly, 510 (Q31 V28). I didn't let this get me down and immediately went home and signed up to take another test on November 8th. I figured that I would incorporate more practice tests into my study regime and focus heavily on Verbal while continuing to brush up on Quant. With a plan in place I moved forward.
Come test day (Nov. 8th), I felt good about the work that I had put in. I was scoring around 600 mark on
MGMAT practice exams and figured I had a good shot at hitting the 620 range on the official test. I breezed through AWA and IR didn't feel like it posed too much of a challenge. Quant is always tricky for me, but I never felt like I was missing multiple questions in a row and my timing was good throughout. Verbal too went smoothly, save for a slight timing issue that forced me to rush three questions in the middle so I could get back on track. All said and done, my score pops up and.....410! I was shocked. I never expected to perform that poorly. What could have happened?
I am now considering a retake, but with a performance that bad and the fact that schools see all your scores when you apply, how much does a really poor score hurt my application? Others have recommended that I to take the GRE so that my poor GMAT score won't be seen when I apply. I am wondering if schools really are unbiased when considering GRE v GMAT?
Giving up is not an option that has crossed my mind. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or could provide any insight into applying to B-school with a GRE score?
Thanks in advance!
