Hey All,
I took the good old gmat back in december and got a real shocker, a 490! Ouch! Not good at all, for that test (attempt #1) I did some ad hoc prep before that with Kaplan but nothing very serious, I was overconfident and completely missed up..BUT I did get a 5.5 in the AWA so I didn't feel completely stupid...
Today (attempt #2) I took the exam after several very hard and long months of studying and ended up with a 640 (43Q, 36V), which translates to a 70% in math and a 81% in verbal.
I plan to take the exam again in about a month. I have several top schools in my sights and need a higher score to get in. I have already used the following material:
OG 10
Kaplan 800
Kaplan 2005
PR (which I'm NOT a big fan of)
Veritas Advanced Math Book
And Kaplan's math review.
My weakness in verbal is the SC, I almost always get perfect in CR and do pretty well in RC but SC kill me. After reading several posts toay I know what i have to do with SC, go over that 1000 list of problems.
BUT...I'm a little lost on how to boost my quant score...which really needs it. I scored rather well in the math on all practice tests I took and was totally shocked today....I even got a probability question early on which I aced early, but I have no idea how I lost ground....Maybe I made a lot of stupid mistakes? I'm probably going to buy OG 11 and it's two friends (V and Q) and
Manhattan GMAT's SC book...What should focus on to boost my math? Please Help!!!
Thanks!!!!
