Hey all, I just wanted to share my story. My background is not as glorious as most of you folks on here. I am originally from Mexico but I grew up in Tyler,Texas,USA. I recently graduated with a 2.9GPA in Political Science from Texas Tech (Final year 3.6GPA). I realized a bit too late in college the importance of good grades and that there are not many jobs for this degree. After I graduated I was looking at Law School or Business School. I finally decided on a local Business School, University of Texas at Tyler, for my needs. Based on my current financial situation this is the most economical for my needs.
Anyways, I found this site not too long after I registered for the GMAT and I had around 2 weeks to prepare. I originally scored 510 on the PPTest and by taking the advice on the forum I was able to raise my score 80 points to 590. Not only that but I also raised my quantitative score by 14 points (22 to 36). I took the advice of many of you and I wanted to thank those who posts their tips and those who post their stories of 700+. I found the tips to be true to their word and the stories to be very inspiring. Though I am not going to a TOP 10 school, I feel that is a great opportunity to learn about business and have a better chance of landing a quality job after graduation.
Grateful always,
jolasate
