Hey guys,
This is my first post here. I gave GMAT today for the first time and my marks are as follows. I studied for about 4 weeks on and off (no break from work). I have about 6 years of experience in consulting.
Q - 44
V - 40
Overall - 680
IR 4
I am very disappointed for one major reason. I missed the last 2, 3 and 3 questions in IR, Q, and V totaling to about 8 due to bad time mismanagement. Some advice here please.
Secondly, due to anxiety, while thinking about the right answer, clicked the wrong one and moved on in a hurry in the quants section on 2 occasion.
I have a problem with my attention span and am working on it.
As part of preps, I took two Veritas prep exams and the 2 free GMATPrep exams. Most studied the OG and questions bank from Veritas.
Practice Test Scores -
In order of being taken.
Official GMATPrep 1 - 640
Veritas Prep 1 - 570
Veritas prep 2 - 590
Official GMATPrep 2 - 660
Note - In all four, I have had time management problems and have missed questions in the section ends. (More on the veritas exams). This is one area I am finding difficult to improve on.
The Veritas exams are a bit more difficult than the official ones and I thought were more helpful in touching on parts which otherwise I would miss.
If I could have at least attempted the 8 questions, could have probably clocked 700 or more but time management has been an issue in all the practice tests as well.
I wanted to apply for the well known asian schools like INSEAD, NUS, ISB, etc but would not be able to. While I have been able to pinpoint the two major problems I had, I am not sure about how to tackle them, specially time management. Please provide me some advise if you faced similar problems.
