Congrats!!! :-D Awesome score, and best of luck to your future apps.

Good tip on not thinking about math during verbal. I'll only add to that, don't think about the essays during math either. I screwed up my first essay (ran out of time) and had to work hard to clear my head before heading into the math section.

Thank you all for a tremendous support. It is relatively difficult for people like me who has finished university education some 12 years ago.

I don't understand. I had the same total score, but my component scores were 2 points higher (Yours 49+36=85). Mine 87.

Component total score is irrelevant e.g. if one scores higher in verbal but not in Quant vs one who does better in Quant and not verbal and if both of them have the same total raw score, the guy with higher verbal will get a bigger total as verbal is more difficult.

In addition with 5 mistakes one can get 49 in Maths, also with 4 mistakes one can get 49 in Maths, however, the person with 4 mistakes will get some edge while calculating total GMAT score. Offcourse, exact algorithm is only known to ETS. What is ur score break up ?

My Verbal was 2 points higher.

Incidently, Has an official score ever differed from the Unofficial?

As I said, no one can tell u what the exact correlation is between the number of mistakes and scaled score. Remember, the scaled score also will depend how hard the question pool is. Also, very rarely the official and unofficial scores differ, atleast I have never come across one.

With a bit delay congratulations Saurya for this great score !

In terms of programme this is tough to answer without knowing what your goals upon graduation are.

Short MBAs are not so numerous :

I know only two in the US, 1Y at Kellog and accelerated programme at Columbia (I am probably missing some of them)

In Europe we have a couple of picks : LBS with a new 14-month programme (should check that with Paul !), IMD 1Y and Insead (1Y or 10 months depending on intakes)

Take care.
