dina98 your's story is almost similar to mine. I also opted for EGmat course after my first retake and after spending 80% time on verbal prep I actually ended up scoring less(V28) than that I scored when I self prepared(V31).

I was also scoring consistently around 35 on my mocks, but used to falter on actual test and scored 31 & 28 respectively.

What I feel is that your anxiety & stress level are actually playing a role in lowering your score. Also following methods which you have practiced on mocks are difficult to follow under actual tests condition. Many times we don't follow our strategies under actual test conditions which results in lower score(again stress is to be blamed for this).

Please go for ESR, it will surely help you to zero in on your weakest areas.

Please find my post for further solutions to your queries, https://gmatclub.com/forum/450-to-730-a-satisfying-journey-210578.html
Please read my replies to the queries on this post, you might find answer to some of your queries too!!

Please reply if you want me to elaborate on something.

Thanks, will take a look at your thread.

Hi Rich,

1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
I did in the last two weeks take three full length tests
2) Did you take them at home?
yes
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
yes
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
I did take longer breaks
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?
the gmatprep tests - yes, but the 800score tests and gmatclub tests for the first time.

1) What were your two Official GMAT scores (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
First attempt: 590(Q45,V26)
Second attempt: 610 (Q48, V26)

2) What is your goal score?
Goal as of yesterday was 700 - now I don't even know if it's feasible
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
was planning on applying for Fall 2016 if I was able to score above 650.

I spent the last few months studying mostly for verbal. I have not given much importance to quant this time around so I was actually worried about not performing so well on quant. But this increase in Quant and the same score in verbal -

Hi dina98,

The extra information that you've provided is quite useful, as it helps to define what went wrong on Test Day. In real basic terms, you took your CATs in such a way that you were NOT properly training to face the Official GMAT - so you were not ready to face it on Test Day (not either time).

Test Day is a rather specific 'event' - the details are specific and they matter, so you have to train as best as you can for all of them. The more realistic you can make your CATs, the more likely the score results are to be accurate. The more you deviate, the more "inflated" your scores can become - and that's what happened here. By skipping sections, taking the CATs at home, taking longer breaks, etc., you weren't properly training for the FULL GMAT 'experience.'

Thankfully, this is a relatively easy set of problems to fix. The big question now is "how long will it take you to properly get 'used to' taking the full GMAT?" You'll certainly need a new set of practice CATs to work with and you have to put in the necessary time to train your brain (and body) for the FULL GMAT. You might also need to invest in some new GMAT training materials. You have plenty of time before the Fall, 2016 deadlines to continue studying and hit your score goals.

1) What materials did you study with?
