I think you should take another try. You only need to push on quant. Schools would expect you to retake. I see them asking you why you decided not to retake.

Tell me please what is your approach to CR? You have spent about 2.42 min (145 secs) - more than recommended and the accuracy is rather high. How many question of each type you had please? Assumption, bold face, flaw. Did you feel the increasing level of difficulty in CR questions?

Hi,

thanks for your reply. So yes, I would want to push harder on quant.

I was studying the Manhattan Prep guides, and followed their approach for CR.
1.) Identify the question type
2.) Read the argument and make notes, identify premises and conclusions
3.) Prethink
4.) Choose the right answer choice

I tend to spend too much time on pre-thinking, or making sure I selected the right answer choice. I don't exactly remember how many of each question I got, but I did not get a single bold face question (surprisingly). A number of find the underlying assumption, strengthen and weaken. One discrepancy and maybe 1 flaw question.

I think if you're considering it you definitely should, just for yourself. If you are interested in improving quant, I think that is much much easier than improving on verbal so that is also a bonus. It sounds like nobody really looks at how many times you wrote it and for me, after the first test, the thought of rewriting made we want to puke and I don't get that feeling from you.

skimming your post makes me feel like you're in the trap of most people who re obsessed with the GMAT though. For example, starting a start up that was bought is a pretty big plus on your resume I'm guessing. Ultimately I think if you feel you underperformed then you should let yourself demonstrate your true capabilities. Realistically, your score could go down, as you're talking 710 to 740. If you think you just messed up then rewrite quickly, if you think you need more study then wait the 7 weeks, make sure you keep an eye on the booking site though and get a good time. For me, when I got my 710, I knew I still had a lot more to give on the quant as I didn't bother studying to extensively and was more happy to move on because I was more worried with timing but I was extremely happy with my 710 because I was only really looking at one school and the average was in the low 6's.
