:roll: OK here is my story tell me what you think. For the past two months I have been studying for the GMAT. I got all the books (Kaplan, PR, Barron's) and even took the Kaplan classroom course. I took practice Kaplan CATs and Powerprep CATs and consistenly performed better on the Quant than on the Verbal. In fact I scored in the 85-99th percentile in the Quant section on all of my CAT exams and 60-80th percentile in the Verbal. Overall, my scores ranged from 670 - 700 scoring 680 consistenly. So I go to take the exam today and I got a [b]61 percent of Quantitative section and 85 percent of Verbal section for 640 overall score. [/b] I am confused because I have spent the past 2 month trying to improve in the Verbal section. I was comfortable with the quant section and did not even really study that hard for it except data suffciency. I am just confused as to how I can do so well on the Quant section in the practice exams and do so much worse on the actual exam while actually improving my Verbal score significantly. Let me know what you guys think.

Did you use the OG 11th edition for your prep? Many people on this forum say it is more representative of the newer (harder) Q questions on the GMAT.
Anyway, don't beat yourself up on the test - a 640 is a good score! Just think of what your second score can be
