hi,
I appeared for GMAT exam on 12th Aug 2016 and I scored 710 ( Q/ 49, V/37) . First of all, I want to thank the GMAT CLUB . I want to share my Gmat experience , a story of perseverance.
I scored 590 (Q/48 ,V/23) in my 1ST attempt in Oct 2014.
I appeared for GMAT again in Sep 2015 and scored 660 ( Q/50 ,V/30) in my second attempt.
Just after one month I scored 600 ( Q/49 ,V/23) in my third attempt.
I was at the same point from where i have started.
I was disheartened that GMAT was not my cup of tea. However, I realized that my third attempt was just another attempt in a hope that luck might favor me .Then , i decided that i will not give up . I dreamed that i would also write my Gmat success story ,despite earlier three attempts setbacks. My idea is just to motivate that never give up and that if you think you can , you will .
I followed OG 13,
MGMAT SC guide , CR Powerscore Bible and Jamboree classroom course (1st attempt ) , Egmat verbal online course ( 2nd attempt ), and Byju tablet course (4th attempt). Egmat verbal online course helped me to jump from V/23 to V/30 .My accuracy improved but I analysed that i ran short of time in my 2nd attempt . But i liked the ideas such as understanding meaning and pre thinking. Byju tablet course is good, though i did not utilize all of its ideas, rather I devised my own way of tackling problems .
I found what worked for me in order to gain accuracy and be on time .
Verbal strategy -
As I read Question , I try to comprehend the meaning . Then I try to pre think . Then i go to answer choices . If the answer choice matches with pre thinking , you have the answer. Suppose if the answer choices do not match with your pre- thinking , make educated guess and move on .
Sometimes, i was not able to pre think .
In those cases i chose randomly without reading the answer options , if I was already behind time during the test (mostly after Q 20 ) . But for questions from 1 to 20 , I did not chose randomly .Atleast i used to go through all the answer options and then make educated guess and move on , but i tried not to waste time more than 3 minutes on any particular question .
For my fourth attempt ,i gave Gmat prep tests and
MGMAT tests .
GMAT prep 1 : 720 (Q/49, V/38) ,
GMAT prep 2 : 720 (Q/50, V/35)
MGMAT test scores range from 640 to 710 , My last
MGMAT Test score was 710 (Q/49 , V/37)
My actual Gmat score was same as that of my last
MGMAT test .
I scored 5 in both AWA and IR .
Once again , i thank to GMAT club . Please suggest MBA admission consultants in India. I want to apply for ISB and IIMS.
Thanks
