Hey Gsr,

thanks for the advice, I will def pay have to do some kaplan exams. I was thinking about doing one or two last week, but I didn't want to throw my confidence off (even thought the kap scores short you + or - 100 pts)

Congrats! That's a good score. You should be competitive at most schools.
Good thing is, more practice can definitely improve your Q score (I guess it is easier to improve on Q than V in a short time). Next time, maybe you can also try out Kaplan and Powerprep tests.

fresinha,

thanks for the advice, I plan on having a go through of the OG the next twenty days or so, and see what happens. As far as the breakout for gmat prep (from what I remember), Q was about 42 or so, and V was approx 40. The difference between the actual gmat and the gmatprep is that the questions are weird/convoluted a bit in the gmat prep when compared to the actual gmat.

I wanted to use the powerprep, but since I already have completed 75% of the OG, I didn't think that the scores would really show my ability.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I will have to use this experience to fuel my studies for the next exam.

chief...good score...but quant killed your chances of getting a 700+

if you had scored close to 48 on quant you would easily have scored 700..

how hard was the quant with respect to gmatprep?

what were your breakout score on gmatprep? powerprep?

my suggestion, and I wont say that your quant skills were excellent but that your skills are decent to get you close 46+...you should focus on reading your question carefully...the reason I think most of cant score higher is that we dont read the question properly...so with a little more attentive attitude in the exam...I think you can easily ace it next time...you are there..its just that you need to adjust your mental focus during the exam...watchout for those little things...concept wise you are set...just need to get your alertness tuned for gmat..

DO GMAT CHALLENGES ....on this website...

based on your gmat score...you did well...u just need to alter your strategy...thats all...like...maybe when the question is asking about a/b you answer b/a....things like this get you...and i think thats what happened with you...u thought u were doing well..and you were ...just that you werent answering what was asked..those questions that look the easiest are usually the trickiest...trust me...whenever i get the easiest question I always screw up on the score..
