I am applying to the DeGroote MBA co-op program and got a score of 500 on my first trial. I was wondering if they will consider other factors such as my extra-cirricular, high GPA and work experience instead of only focusing on my GMAT score.

Absolutely! GMAT is the easiest thing you could do to improve your application. You could improve your GMAT score from 500 to 700+ within several months, but you can't change your experience as well as your GPA.
However, a very low GMAT could hurt your application. I think that 500 is too low and the admission could think that your logic is weak. This means no good to you. Try to improve your GMAT score then.

Hi Gohil,
Although a business school admission is a holistic process, GMAT does play a vital role in helping admissions team evaluate your candidature. You should certainly try to improve your GMAT score. A high GMAT score not only increases your chances of admissions at a business school but also may help you get a scholarship. Try to give one more attempt and see if you can improve your score by a few points.
