I went for the test on June 2, 2018.
Some background:
I hail from an over-represented candidate pool and I realized that for me to have a realistic shot at some of my target schools a high score (think 750+) is necessary. I did the normal prep. Went through GMATCLUB maths tests, the OG etc etc, and realized that I was doing decently in quant. My verbal was a nightmare. I started from V35-36 and had plateau-ed there. So I worked hard to improve it, finally tried E-Gmat and it suited me. Now I started the GmatPrep official tests again and was scoring Q49-50 and V40-42 consistently. I took the test thinking that the moment had arrived.
The result: Q47, V41 and a 710.
I wasn't happy. I really thought I had quants in control. But I failed. I was hoping someone could advice me as to how I can approach the problem in a retest scenario.
There were some other problems like a bad night's sleep, horrible Mumbai heat, a broken AC that led to me sweating buckets on the previous night. I do admit that I wasn't feeling it in the morning, and I was also having some stomach problems. But I don't want to hide behind excuses. These things can happen the next time as well, so I was just hoping if adopting a new strategy can help.
During the test I felt in quants I spent a few minutes more on some particular questions and couldn't concentrate on the DS part later on. (Where I had to tick based on my reading of the question and forego further analyses.) I was also not following any time metrics, because I've always completed my exam in the time allotted, I guess that worked against me when I got fixated on a single question. (In my defence that questioned seemed really easy, I was frustrated that the answer I was getting wasn't matching with anything else)
Please advice.

GMAT Quant is more about the application of the concepts. With a Q47, it seems like you are
fluent with the basics. If you have the time, go through the concepts of all your weak topics
from the GMATClub Quantitative Mega-thread. This thread should help you reinforce the
concepts that you have already done.
Whenever you practice questions, try to understand if you are able to apply the learnings to
solve the problems. Every time you are not able to solve a question go to the thread(where
the question has been discussed) and go through the methods that have been used to solve
the problems. In my experience, you will come across a few methods that will help you save
some time. Try and adapt these methods while you solve questions during practice. Since you
have already bought the GMATClub Quant tests, I would recommend you to reset these tests
and do them again(at least the topics you face problems in)
Work on maintaining an error log and go through the mistakes you make from time to time.
This retrospection will definitely help you improve your scores. Last but not the least, go
through the below-given post(which details the strategy to improve Quant score to Q50)
