Hello everyone,
I took the GMAT first time in Dec 2005 and got a 580 but my goal was 640 and needless to say was very disappointed with that 580. But with encouragement from my husband and you guys here on the forum, I decided to take it again. And this time I got 630 (44Q and 34V) and while this might be too little compared to the 700's I see here, but I am satisfied.
My experience with Pearson VUE was pretty good, there's nothing to worry about the erasable sheets and marker except that the marker leaves a lot of ink on your fingers. The staff was very helpful and polite, they promptly gave me the sheet and marker when I raised my hand for it. Someone has asked in one of the posts about the breaks, in my centre the break was for 10 minutes, but make sure to ask the staff at your centre because I read in some other posts here that he/she got a break for 5 minutes.
I think one of things that made a difference to my score was the "
Error log", it helped me focus on my weak areas and careless errors. The other important thing was practicing and taking lots of full time GMAT tests to improve my timing. Last time round, I really messed up on my timing and therefore the score was low. This time I finished my quanti well within time, I was doing fine on my verbal too, but the last few CR questions for which I didn’t have much time bought my verbal score down.
I am relaxed now and hopefully should manage to get into one of my short listed Schools. Thanks guys and all the best to the future GMAT test takers.
