Have you guys heard this song called "Take it higher" by "Larry Greene". Its the theme song of the Movie "Over the Top". It goes "Take it Higher....tatatatat....Fight with Fire...tatatatatata..Take it higher.....Over the top!! Not to mention the music is pretty motivating. I think this song should be the official GMAT CLUB ANTHEM. 
After every practice test (whatever my score) I used to play this song on FULL VOLUME.
OK, now back to my experience...

My previous Attempt On 23rd Dec05 (I joined this forum on the 24th):
SCORE--560
QUANT--42
VERBAL--25
When I gave the GMAT earlier I didnt know (for I am one of the most ignorant souls on earth) that there was something called the OG. I used to live in KAPLAN world. That was my bible. But now we all know that with the "real bibles" out there one doesnt really need Kaplan. I didnt even open kaplan this time around. I dont even know where it is.
This time around I knew my score would range between 640 and 690. I never got a 700 in any of my practice tests. In fact the two GMAT PREP tests turned out to be amazingly accurate estimator's of my score. I got 650 on the 2nd practice test and 690 on the first. You must have noticed my recent posts on the quant and the verbal forums. They were all GMAT PREP questions.
I know my scores are not phenomenal at all, but what I want to convey here is that using the correct learning methods can make a significant difference (especially on the verbal section).
Ok.. I reached the test centre exactly half an hour before the test, got my ugly snap take by the scary looking lady behind the counter who also tortured my index finger for a fingerprint around 4 times!!!! Had she asked me once more I would have told her.."look lady, I am a very rare species, I dont have fingerprints" Other than that everything else was pretty smooth. The centre was nice and the new DELL LCD monitors were definitely a pleasure to look at, not to mention easier on the eyes as well.
The essays were no big deal. The issue essay was on Business Ethics. Of course I think ethics in business are essential...which school would give me admission if I thought otherwise??? So I wrote my heart out.
Then quant started. The first question was tough. The second question was tougher, the third one was out of my league so I guessed and moved on. Surprisingly, I think I encountered more than 10 to 12 questions on Co-ordinate geometry, most of them were pure logic, but some were really vague. After a while I had the feeling that I was messing up Quant. With just 30 mins left I still had 17 questions to answer. My mind had stopped working. I felt like walking out that very moment, but then I remembered my favourite song. I said to myself..."take it higher you jackass..you spent 250$ on this thing-WAKE UP" So I woke up and started solving again to the best of my ability. (abusing yourself does help a lot in times like these) Not a single probability problem hit my screen. Same with P&C.
Once quant was over I took full advantage of the 10 min break and washed my face, as suggested by somone somewhere on this forum. Anyway, once again Verbal started on a tougher note than I had expected. The RC's were also quite tough I would say. Most of the SC questions were easy. I know I lost out on RC and a few CR questions.
All in all this was a much better experience than the earlier one. I will apply to the few schools which still have open deadlines. If I dont get admission this year, I will most definitely give the GMAT again and get another 100 point jump. I swear I will. What I think of GMAT ? gmat is like a robot..it will respond based on how you respond. Its all preprogrammed. Its no big deal, is what I would say to all of you out there. But its needs to be taken seriously..(you dont want a mad robot on our back now do you?)
