Hello Everyone,
While 740 is a decent score, I am really disappointed with Q 49 (74%), IR 6(70%), and AWA 5(53%). Deadlines for the last round of applications are fast approaching.
I'd be glad if you could let me know if
1. IR 6 and AWA 5 raise any red flags for admissions into Insead, Yale, LBS, etc. I'm absolutely ashamed of the percentiles.
2. Do I retake the GMAT? (I got 690, 750, 730, 740 in GMAC tests) My academics aren't that great (7.0/10 from IIT Guwahati) and while my work ex is decent, I still don't know what my chances are at one of the big schools. I'm pretty confused about whether I should retake the GMAT again.
I'd really appreciate any help.

Absolutely not required in my opinion. You would be wasting your precious time. IR 6 and AWA 5 are totally acceptable. Taking it again might actually hurt your chances. Schools aren’t looking for people obsessing over a standardized test.

Congrats on a 740
Your IR and essay are not outliers. I would not worry about those.
Whether to retake a 740 is an interesting question. I would say 90 percent of the time no, but it depends on your background. If you are Indian male IT (very overrepresented) and you have a lot of time before you plan to apply then it may be worth considering— you could always cancel if it’s 740 or less.
A 760 could be the difference between a 50 percent scholarship or none. Or a top 20 vs top 10. It does have an impact.
