Hi! V38 does suggest that you fundamentals in Verbal are largely in place.

Which specific section in Verbal, do you think is relatively weak for you?

Yes, it is highly probable and reasonable. So, you now realize that 1-point reduction in Quant "punishes" our total score much more than the same 1-point reduction in Verbal score.

If you no longer consider retaking gmat, then you may want to submit the first score (with Q50) for applying US business schools or any schools or majors with heavy quant, whereas the second score (with Q49) is more appealing for European business schools or elsewhere.

For your comparison, I once scored: 680 Q49 V34 in March 2018. Your second one is 710 Q49 V38. +4 points difference in Verbal score easily translates to +30 points difference in total score.
