I've been studying since July and plan(ned) to take the GMAT in September. The first time I ever took a test and even looked at the GMAT at all, I took GMATPrep1 and got a 620. Since then, my scores have been declining...all the way to a 550! I'm also taking a prep course and going to tutoring. Did this happen to anyone else?
I have the same problem, but I think I know why this is happening to me...I have been working a lot lately, last time I had a vacation was in May 2005 and I only sleep 5-6h/night. Because of the GMAT preparation I gained 8lb, and I forgot where the gym is!!!
I will face the GMAT monster next Saturday, Aug 26
for me
could you list which exam u got a 550 on...
for example, if it was for kaplan.. then it is not so bad..
since kaplan has a tough scoring algorithm..
maybe u arent doing so bad..
list out what u got on which exam.. and that will be a better predictor

Agree with pparija. Depends on the test.
Also plz tell me how you study.
Remember that you need to relax, otherwise you can get exhausted.
Take a day off (without GMAT) once per week or 2 weeks.
There is nothing that can replace hardwork. The best thing you can do is continue to practice problems, ANALYZE YOUR MISTAKES, and keep a positive attitude.
All - thanks for the advice - so far I have taken ARCO practice test 1, Veritas test 1, and 800score.com's 1 & 2 tests. Today I started making a "Concept list" for all of the quant concepts that I have been missing.
