This sounds like clear grounds for a re-take. It'd be better if you asked for the exam to be stopped then and there but it is what it is.

In your email to GMAC (not examity) explain the sequence of events clearly and precisely. Explain the steps you took and the response you received from the proctor. Say to GMAC to "watch the video themselves" to bolster your case.

All the best.

Hi dardevile,

I'm sorry to hear about the Test Day 'disruption' you experienced during your Official GMAT. For the Moderator to interrupt your Exam like that is incredibly odd - and almost certainly did disrupt your entire performance. Was there anything that you can recall that may have prompted this type of reaction? For example, was your computer/monitor making any odd noises? Were you distracted by anything in the room - and frequently looked past your monitor (meaning that the Moderator may have though that you were looking at something just off-screen, such as notes or another person)?

Procedurally-speaking, there will almost certainly be an investigation into all of this (including a review of your Test feed/video), but that process may take up to several weeks. All things considered, I suspect that you'll likely be given a free retest, but you might have to wait a little while before you receive word back either way.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi dardevile,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Regarding the next steps, I think you did the right thing by reaching out to examity. My guess is that after reviewing your situation they will provide you with a free retake.
