I've just terminated my exam after completing only 2 questions. Again, as it happened the first time I got technical issues which dramatically affected my performance during the exam. From the beginning, my initial suspicion got real: It took 2 min approx. from the moment I pressed "next" in question 1 to get to question 2. Same as it happened last time.
This is extremely disappointing as I'm missing my scholarship application deadline. I already delayed the deadline after the first failed attempt. This means having waste a lot of money, time and effort in a failed plan. How can I focus on the exam with all these issues going around? Getting 1 hour to fix the problem, and carrying on with the exam after having taken 8 minutes from me in total (in question 2, I had to test if the issue was fixed so I was pressured to choose an option so the secure browser guy know if he could leave the call or not) This is unacceptable considering that this is the second time it happened to me.
I followed the technical instructions conspicuously before doing the exam so I didn't have to go through the same issues as my first attempt. I even used a different computer just in case. I also warned my proctor before starting the exam about the lag during the instructions section but he didn't paused the exam. Later, the secure browser assistant told me to uninstall the antivirus and after 1 hours the issue seemed to had been fixed. But still, how can you carry on with all of these going on, and having wasted 4 to 5 minutes of precious time from the verbal...
I will never understand how can the GMAT allow this type of things. We pay $250, just to have a decent test condition and focus just on the questions. How can we get minutes consumed due to lag, and this types of things. If the issues was the antivirus, then put it down as a part of your system requirements instruction list. Also, if you see that in the instructions section of the exam you are having issues, then pause the exam and call the secure browser before your time gets affected by these. This is basic stuff.
GMAT Online experience is very poor and I don't think they meet the basic standards so students can have a fair and nice experience with the system. It's unacceptable from any point of view.
