Hi all,
I am unsure if this if the right channel but I thought I'd give it a try. Sorry if this is not motivating, but I am really seeking advice - plus, I really don't want to give up!
My GMAT story/ experience so far:
I have started studying ~ 11 months ago. Since then I have studied almost every day, I really had to start from scratch with Quant, as that definitely wasn't my strong suit, but I saw continuous improvement.
1st OG Practice Test (without studying)
Score 510 | Verbal 32 | Quant 28
2nd OG Practice Test ( 1.5 months later)
Score 610 | Verbal 35 | Quant 37
3rd OG Practice TestScore 640 |Verbal 42 | Quant 35
The 4th was close to the 3rd.
So I continued studying, I have worked with TTP a bit, Prepscholar, did the OG book, and also Kaplan 800. I even had a 3 hours with a tutor for Verbal, as I felt pretty confident with Verbal, but my results were very unreliable, so I wanted to get feedback by an expert (I thought I might made a mistake that I wasn't aware of).
In July 2021, I did my first official test and it was a 580 (Verbal 32/ Quant 37). I was absolutely devastated, but didn't want to give up. So I checked my Enhanced Score Report, analysed my weaknesses and continued to tackle them with an
error log.
I have studied a lot for another 3 months, and it went pretty well. I felt very confident with Verbal, I barely made mistakes when practicing. Also Quant seemed to go a lot smoother and I just overall understood the concepts a lot better.
3 weeks ago I did a pretty elaborate test by one of the universities I'd be interested to apply for an MBA and they gave me a range from 670-700. Encouraged by this result, I redid the very first OG Practice test (which I last did in Dec 2020) and got a 710 (Verbal 42 | Quant 45). I knew this could be inflated from potentially knowing some of the questions, but I thought it gave me a rough suggestion of where I am standing.
Last week I took my 2nd attempt of the official exam and got a 610 (Verbal 34/ Quant 41). I just couldn't believe it when I saw the result on the screen. I really don't want to give up, but I just don't know where to go from here. Especially my Verbal score is extremely inconsistent.
If anybody has any suggestions or has experienced something similar, I'd be thrilled about any advice.
Thanks a lot,best, Vio
