I took the test today, it's 620 (Q47, V29) 
I started studying intensively in one month because I changed the plan to apply this year rather than next year. The mock test scores are around 6xx (Prep3: 640, Prep4: 630, Prep5: 600, Prep6: 640). They tell me that my ability is around 6xx. But I believe that I can improve more in one month. But I wonder whether I should retake it? I still have resumes, essays, TOEFL to finish by Feb 15th.
My target school is in the top 100, the avg.GMAT: 550 (no idea about the median)
should I retake to have admission and scholarship chance?

In my opinion, you should seriously prepare once more and target around 15th Jan, for the re-take and target around 700. A great GMAT score is the biggest favor you can do, to your candidature.
After the retake, you would still have around 1 month to finish the application/essays/resume/TOEFL. All this can be done (with some stretch) in a month.

Hi reviewtattantat,
If the Average GMAT Score of the School that you are interested in is a 550, then with a 620, you certainly appear to be in a good position to apply (as far as that one aspect of your application is concerned). You're ultimately asking an Admissions question though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement.

Once you've decided on whether to retest or not, you should post back here (or you can PM me directly) and we can talk through your study options going forward. If you took your Official GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
