I have decided to take my GMAT Exam Online on 26 December (Sunday) because I just started a new job and am unable to apply leaves to take my GMAT. I have a really good faith in getting my target scores (700) as all of my Veritas Prep Test Scores were between 680 - 720 (Q47 - Q49, and V36 - V39).
On the test day, I made a mistake in waiting in front of my laptop way too early (1.5 hours before). It took the proctor more than 8 mins to connect with me after my actual test time, but that did not hindle my testing durations. After several checking, I finally started my exam with AWA, IR, Quant, and Verb. I am positive that my internet connection is more than adequate to carry out the test (480 Mbps on average), however, the platform does not necessary provide the best connectivity for your exam. It took approx. 15 - 20 seconds for the question to proceed to the next question after I have pressed "Next" several times. I need to press "Next" several times as the first few times it took more than 20 seconds for it to process to the next question. I raised my concern to the proctor and what I got is "I am sorry, there is nothing I can do, I am just a proctor, if you are unsatisfied with the service, I recommend you to leave your comment in the survey after the exam". This truly traumatized me and I think I missed total of 2 questions on IR, and 5 questions each on Quant and Verbal sections. Finally, my score came out as 640 (Q44 V33) with IR score of 5. It is a huge improvement for myself as my first few GMAT scores were 530 and 550, but I am not sure whether is it enough for me to get into the university I plan to apply (average score of 670).
On the other hand, my view on GMAT Online is avoid taking it if possible. You just would not know what will happen to your laptop, your internet connectivity on that day. In my case, I am very sure that it is the platform's problem for the questions lagging. My first GMAT Online (the one that I got 530) was during March 2020, and that was when the GMAT Online service provider is Pearson instead of Examity. In my humble opinion, despite the lower marks that I obtained for my first exam, the exam is much smoother although I heard there are more technical errors with Pearson but I do not recall any lagging for my questions to proceed to the next one.
Since Round 2 deadline is coming soon, should I retake my GMAT or should I focus on my application?
