GMAT EXAM EXPERIENCE

Question

I APPEARED FOR GMAT ON 22.08.2022.I was upset with my score 640(Q48,V28)...I was confident I would get at least 7 out of 10 questions from GMAT RC in the 1st 3 passages correct, though I skipped the 4th passage as I had less time for rest no. of questions.I scored a dismaying 22 percentile in RC.Can I know is it possible that even after 7 correct ,it is possible to score not more than 22 percentile.Third,I did not get any difficult question in 3rd quarter in verbal...I guess my ability was already limited by my performance in 2nd quadrant of verbal.I had got 7 out of 9 questions correct in 2nd quadrant but I did not get any difficult question and just missed two easy questions in 3rd quarter.Please suggest how to improve in verbal(V38).I have attached ESR along with this.

Time management could perhaps do with some tuning up. Perhaps use time markers. Your Sentence Correction is decent. The RC and CR is where you can potentially move the needle the most. For RC, work on a reading methodology, understand how INFERENCE questions work on the GMAT, etc.  Had a 6-hour student who went from a V31 to a V40 in about 30 days . One key thing you can do that will likely result in your scoring higher on GMAT verbal is learn a reliable strategy for each type of RC question. Having clear strategies can make it much easier to answer questions correctly and quickly.

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day did not turn out better - although a 640/Q48 is still a solid Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for - and get to the data in your ESR - it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
