To everyone out there feeling hopeless, I wanted to share this experience I had retaking the GMAT.
I first started studying for the GMAT in May 2022 and on August 28th I took the exam for the first time. I was feeling extremely insecure, I even got blocked during the test and did horribly. I ended up scoring 470. Afterwards I was feeling very frustrated, because I studied for 3 months (self-preparation only with YouTube videos, official GMAT guide exercises,
Manhattan books, etc), and I thought I didn't deserve that score at all, so I didn't know what to do.
A week later, I looked up on Google which was the best platform to study for the GMAT and TTP came up. I tried the trial for 5 days and I loved it. It was just the platform I needed to study and better prepare myself. So, I took a shot and put my target score in 700, which was what I wanted to achieve. After 3 months of giving literally my life to study (330 hours of study), I ended up finishing the TTP lessons. I wish I had more time to complete the whole study plan accordingly, since it is extremely well designed, but at least I finished every lesson and several tests throughout the course. This gave me a lot of confidence. At the end of my studying phase, I started doing the official GMAT prep tests. I ranged from 650 to 720. I ended up being very consistent on Quant, achieving always between 49 and 50. Verbal had always been my weakness (max 34 on official prep tests).
Anyway, I retook the GMAT on December 10th and got 680. I couldn't believe it. Even though I aimed 700, I scored my highest on Verbal, achieving 38. I got a bit nervous on Quant and unfortunately achieved a score of 45. Having seen this, I realized that I might do a lot better if I actually retake the exam in a few weeks.
Bottom line, just keep going! And for anyone who doesn't know TTP, take a look at it, because in my case I couldn't have done it without those guys.
