Hi evillpander,
I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your Proctor that you faced when you took the GMAT; that must have been incredibly frustrating. If either of your two white boards matched the specifications listed at
www.mba.com, then you should have been allowed to use it for your Exam. Asking to see the rest of the room you were in is a fairly standard request though (and if you were talking outloud during your Exam or frequently looking away from the computer screen, then that would have likely led to the request to see if there was anyone else in the room with you).
In the short-term, you should absolutely file a complaint and see if you can get a free retest. The 'investigation' could take up to a few weeks, but this might all be wrapped-up in just a few days.
Before I can offer you any additional advice, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your timeline and your goals:
1) How did you actually score on your Official GMAT (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
2) How have you been scoring on your CATs/mocks?
3) What is your overall goal score?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
