Gmat online score was cancelled by the Gmac, help!

Question

Hi,

This was my first attempt on gmat, and I got a 770 unofficial score. But it was somehow cancelled by the gmac, which I have no idea why it happened.

I received an email saying that it was flagged for review the day after I took the test. I didn’t think much about it since I didn’t do anything against the rules. However, it finished within 9 days, and received an email stating that my score was cancelled, based on a testing issue, and I’m not able to take an online test anymore.
The proctor only ask me to move my cam down a little bit, and nothing else. I also didn’t leave my seat during the break times. I have no idea why there is any other reason that could cause a cancellation. 
The reason I took the test online is just because the nearest test center from where I live would take me at least 6 hours to get there. Which means if I took it in a test center, I probably could not do my best.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do, or have an experience of this kind of situation? Please let me know!

Nice work scoring 770.

You should appeal the cancellation.

If possible, to maximize the chances for success of your appeal, you should find out the reasons for the cancellation and do your best to address them.

770 is a great score and it is very unfortunate to know that your score got cancelled.. 
check the exact issue that why your exam got flagged for that contact gmac at the earliest.

Secondly IMO if you scored 770 , you can always sit for another attempt and get a similar or better score...

Thanks for the responses.
I just sent an email to them, and I told them everything I can memorize during the test. Wish they could reinstate my score.

Just to update the infos.
I finished appealing and the answer from the gmac is that my score was still cancelled(the code is T) and won’t be changed again. They didn’t tell me why they cancelled my score and what they were concerning about, they only tell that the score was cancelled. 
Also, they didn’t answer any word about why they don’t let me do the test online again. I sent another email to them to ask for the reason of not letting me do again and if they can at least let me take an online test again or not.

Overall, as a first attempt, this is definitely the worst experience. It actually just feels like what they were questioning about was the high score I got. They released this way to finish the test, and they just don’t trust it themselves. Probably won’t take it again if they are not letting me do the online test again. And good luck to those are also trying their first time, this is what happened to me. Also, thanks again to the responses that were trying to help me out, you guys are really kind!

That said, since you can score 770, I think you should head to a test center, take it again, and nail it again.

Sorry about the hassle. I think it is a waste to not take it even if you have to take it off line. Until the pandemic, online was not even an option 😬🤷‍♂️

I think it is painful and hurtful and isn’t fair but I will hold past all of that and just cleanse your teeth and get it over with so you never have to worry about the testing process again. Move on to more fun things.

I had a similar experience. I gave my GMAT last week and got a 720 unofficial score. But today I got a mail saying that my scores are cancelled and have been given a 5 year ban!!!! All they state is it’s been cancelled because “they noticed irregularities in my testing environment”

I never got up my chair. Whenever my proctor paused the exam, I did whatever he asked. I plan on appealing the decision. But is it common for them to ban a candidate from a retest!? And will they accept unofficial GMAT mocks as supporting evidence where I have scored 700 and above? Pls help
