Indian candidates being tested must present their passport, even if the test center is in India. Doubly so if they are testing abroad. This is clearly mentioned in the e-mail.

Sorry to hear of your experience, mba_goal. However, good luck with the application process. Maybe you can somehow work this incident into an essay and like you said, it'll all turn out for the best. :)

Well..This has always been the case. I used to see this in 2004/2005 when I took my first two attempts.

"Doubly so if they are testing abroad. This is clearly mentioned in the e-mail. "

This was not the case. This is new and since I have taken it twice I think I was lax in reading the fine lines.
Anyway, as you said it is mentioned in the confirmation email, and I did not read it.
