My simple GMAT history
Solved the Official Starter Kit
12/10/2022Official Practice Exam 1
660 (Q 46, V35)
I thought 660 was promising and started preparing for the GMAT.
I decided to study SC only because 11 out of 12 incorrect questions in V were from SC.
I could have done better in Q, but I considered it was due to unfamiliarity.
I booked an SC tutor and solved SC problems with him.
05/14/2023Official Practice Exam 2
720 (Q 48, V 41)
720 was OK, so I scheduled an actual exam.
I was unhappy with Q, but I still saw it was due to unfamiliarity.
06/18/2023Online Exam
700 (Q 48, V 38)
700 was acceptable, so I started to focus on the application.
However, my online exam experience could have been better.
The proctor stopped me multiple times during the exam.
The experience lowered my score, so I booked an offline exam.
08/24/2023Offline Exam
710 (Q46, V41)
My score improved slightly, but I wanted to be happier with Q.
I needed more time to solve the last 4 questions.
I booked a tutor for Q and asked him to give me pointers.
The tutor said I was wasting my time on DS.
He told me to avoid writing as much as possible.
09/22/2023Offline Exam
740 (Q48, V42)
The Q tutor's advice worked. I had so much time left in Q.
I was still unhappy with my Q, but the overall score was sufficient.
I am unsure why my V kept improving because I didn't study V since my first real exam.
My only guess is that I have been digesting what I have learned during tutoring.
I am more unsure why my Q didn't improve.
