Hi all
bb GMATNinjaI recently gave a second attempt at GMAT online (1st was in 2021 - I scored 680 then) and scored 760 - unofficially. There was a power cut multiple times during my exam. I had arranged for uninterrupted internet connection so that didn't get affected but lights went out when the power went. I am really freaking out thinking they might cancel my score. What do you guys think? I followed every rule. The proctor was asking me what happened every time light went but otherwise I followed every other rule.
Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds incredibly stressful, and it's really, really impressive that you were able to score 760 despite the distractions.
Was the room PITCH black whenever the lights were out? As long as they were still able to see you -- and see that you weren't moving around and doing weird stuff -- then you're probably okay. These reviews are incredibly common for online tests, and most resolve harmlessly, but it's hard to know in a situation like this, just because it's so unusual.
I realize that this is easier said than done, but try your best not to think about it until you get some official news -- until then, there isn't anything you an do about it anyway.

Keep us posted, please! And if the news ends up being bad, now you know for certain that you're capable of crushing this exam, with or without the lights on. So I'm sure that you'll be able to do it again if need be.
