Can someone tell me how helpful are these really expensive online courses like Egmat, and target test prep etc.

I'm not familiar with e-GMAT, but I can say that Target Test Prep is super helpful to many test-takers both because the content is high quality and because it provides everything you need in one place along with analytics and other tools that support success.
Can you achieve your target score without such a course? Yes, you can, but you may spend months or even years of extra time figuring out how to do so.
