Hi guys quick question -
I took the traditional GMAT today at a test center and got a 760. I was really excited about my score so as I was gathering my personal items from my locker after the exam I turned on my phone to text my family. The proctor at the front desk saw me and said "Hey don't use your phone yet". I apologized and put my phone in my pocket. As I was walking out I turned to him and said "Sorry about the phone is that a big deal?" he was very friendly, shook his head and said "no". All of this took place after the exam had closed - I had left the testing room and I had the unofficial score printout in hand.
I think (or at least I hope) i'll be fine, but I dove down a rabbit hole on this forum reading stories of people getting personal best scores canceled (sometimes months later) by the GMAC for very minor reasons. I can't post the URLs but there are a number of horror stories on GMAT club. I'm worried the GMAC will review footage from the test center, see my cell phone in the lobby and ding me for it.
Can anyone advise/talk me down from the ledge?

Hi. Sorry about the issue. It’s hard to tell what will happen as with anything in this world but we should hope for the best.
I would tell you that nobody’s going to review the test center footage because no one cares and everyone has much more interesting things to watch. I think since the person didn’t flag you and did not stick it up to you, it should be OK. This was the end of the test and not a break.
Hopefully the person wasn’t trying to be a hero or somehow trying to call the letter of the law but if they wanted to, they could stick it up to you but it sounds like they may not want karma striking them back

Unfortunately unfortunately at this point in time the only thing you can do is really just take it out of your mind and try to focus on something else. There is a high % chance, nothing will come of it.

PS. Most of the horror stories we have tend to do with the break and most of them are in international locations where it seems following the rules is Paramount to anything else. Let’s hope this was a more easy-going location
