So I took GMAT Focus online a month ago and scored a very high score (735). The testing experience was not great, the proctor was not welcoming at all and added a lot to my anxiety, asked me to change room, because he didn't like the fact that I have a hallway in my living room. I changed the room, and throughout the exam I didn't get any warnings apart from once or twice being asked to have my head higher because I was slouching (and I was slouching because I had to sit at the coffee table that I was able to carry into my bedroom and on a normal chair that was way too high compared to the coffee table -- all requirements from the proctor).
After the test, within 3-4 days I received official confirmation that my score was ready, but then after almost a month, I received another email saying that in their analysis of my testing experience, "we noticed irregularities that are inconsistent with the GMAT™ terms and conditions" and that "After careful consideration, your score has been canceled. You will not be able to register for an appointment for an online exam, but we will grant you a voucher to attempt the exam at a Test Center instead. "
I have a few days to try to appeal.
First of all, I have some psychological issues that I cannot go into here that prevent me from taking the test at a test center. I would obtain the official documents for that but it would take time because the last time I had it diagnosed in my country years ago and now I will not be able to get the medical examination on time in my current country of residence.
Secondly, I understand that they can cancel any high online score, but what is the point of having the online option, if any high score is going to be cancelled. And obviously due to my condition, my performance at test center will be lower, I would love to take online test again to clear their doubts.
Lastly, I understand that they can do whatever they want under their terms and conditions, but sending a confirmation that I passed routine security review and can now send test results to schools, and only after cancelling the score seems too much.
I would appreciate any thoughts and advice on how I can approach and possibly appeal this.
