Hello,
I encountered an issue during my GMAT online exam today. In the final 15 minutes of the last section, my exam was paused with an alert stating, “Test is paused. Please contact the proctor.” However, as shown in the attached image, I did not have access to any chat window throughout the exam. I mentioned this during the initial check-in and assumed it would appear once the exam started but I forgot about it afterward.
When the alert appeared, I verbally called out to the proctor multiple times, as they were communicating with me verbally during check-in, but this time I received no response. After 10-15 minutes of waiting, I used my phone (since my laptop was locked cause of the exam) to try contacting customer support, but neither the GMAC nor Examity India numbers worked. I’ve since sent detailed emails to both GMAC and Examity support and am awaiting a response.
The only issue I can think of is that while I showed my whiteboard to the camera before resuming the exam after a break, I did not do a full room sweep before ending the break. This wasn’t prompted on the break screen, and I received no guidance from the proctor when I checked verbally. So I called out that I am ending the break and proceeded with the final section.
I was just 15 minutes away from completing the exam, and I’m really distressed about possibly having to retake it—considering the preparation, the exam fee, and the overall process.
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what was the resolution, and could you outline the steps you took? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
