Congrats on the score and thanks so much for the debrief ccarson!

Yes, I think 675 is equivalent to 730, which should be a solid score (average for most BSchools).

P.S. What did you you think about GMAT Prep vs. GMAT Club Tests vs. Final Test? Do you feel you should have gotten more on the test day?

Thank you! I still think I'll retake it because I talked with admissions directors at the Deferred Enrollment Chicago event and was hinted at the fact that GMAT scores tend to be a little bit higher than their average/median for class profiles due to there being a bigger emphasis on academics since us students haven't "proven ourselves" in the workforce yet.

I definitely think I should've gotten more on the test day, but only for Quant. Taking the GMAT Club Tests, Quant was WAAAAAY harder by a large margin and I still scored either the same or even higher than how I did on the Final Test. I mainly got in my head and started overthinking questions which caused me to spend more time on them. Furthermore, I only got 3 questions wrong but my score dropped by a ton; I'd expect at least a 84 for getting 18/21. For Verbal and DI, I think I performed exactly as I should've, it's just Quant I think I could've scored higher on. I even felt like GMAT Prep was more difficult than the Final Test for Quant and maybe even Verbal too.

From what I've heard and seen for Verbal, no one does it like GMAC, which I really did see that on the Final Exam. The Final Exam felt more clear with CR questions that actually seemed to test what it's supposed to test, making the questions seem a little bit easier (just because of my skill set, but not way easier, unlike Quant) than GMAT Club Tests. I do give credit to GMAT Club Tests for really making me hone in my skills for CR questions because although some questions' answers were questionable to me, a lot were more advanced which made you think about how to apply those skills to the exam.

Got ya. Sorry about the 83 with three incorrect.

Under the stress, it’s easy to make a careless mistake. I was extremely careful on my test and twice I solved questions to get an answer that I was pretty confident with only to realize the answer was not one of the options. It really freaked me out because I was lucky two times and what about those times I would not be lucky?

I think there’s also luck involved as well, in different people seem to have different experience with some people having a lot of easy questions but very punitive scoring and others having hard questions and relaxed scoring.... I have been thrown off by their variable reports.

PS. Thank you for the feedback. I’ve been trying to work hard on eliminating some of the questionable answers from the test and revising the questions to be clearer in CR, but that is always a battle between clarity and difficulty.

I appreciate your understanding but at the same time, please call out any questions that you feel are dubious, and I would love to improve them or perhaps disagree but that’s either way better than thinking they are perfect.
