Extremely disappointing experience with the GMAT online exam.
Although my internet and Wi-Fi worked perfectly and all checks with the proctor were successful, the software of the exam I programmed via mba's portal froze and never launched. I was therefore unable to take the test at all.
I asked for a refund of the nearly €300 fee, but GMAC Customer Team refused, saying the case was “closed.” When I later requested at least the chance to reschedule and take the exam again, they simply stopped replying.In the end, I lost a significant amount of money because of a technical failure on their side and received no solution, refund, or support. This lack of professionalism is embarrassing for an organisation that claims to be the global standard for graduate admissions. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through the same experience as mine in the future. Hi. Super weird. Sorry about that.
You should be able to get a test rescheduled usually in case of a tech malfunction but not a refund.
Did you talk to the proctor once you were having technical difficulties? Did they try to assist you? What happened at this moment is what they will be deciding happened - whether you had a technical issue or you walked away and changed your mind (in which case they will not offer a re-take)... my sense is that since you have asked for a refund (perhaps to take the test at a test center, understandable) made them think perhaps you had walked away.
