Hi Mathir,

Congrats on your 655, that’s a solid score, especially on your first attempt while balancing internships and interviews. It’s clear that TTP’s structure gave you the clarity and confidence you needed to stay on track and perform under pressure. Great job showing how discipline, balance, and trust in the TTP plan can really pay off!

Congrats on pulling off a 655 in under two months that's seriously motivating for someone like me who's just dipping toes into GMAT prep while juggling uni! Loved how you leaned hard on TTP and kept weekends sacred; definitely stealing that balanced vibe. Wishing you all the best with those apps to LBS and HEC fingers crossed for Hong Kong adventures too! 🚀

Congratulations on the score!
Mathir
I took the GMAT Focus Edition to apply for MiM and MIF programs in Europe, targeting schools like LBS and HEC. With my BBA at Esade coming to an end and an academic exchange in Hong Kong approaching, I knew I had to make the most of the limited time I had. The GMAT wasn’t just another exam as it was a necessary step toward my goals, and I wanted to get it right on the first try.

I started with the TTP diagnostic test, and the results were humbling. My performance was average, far from what I had expected. But as I worked through the study plan, I began to feel more at ease. The GMAT’s structure became clearer, and my confidence grew with each chapter I completed.

I dedicated June and July to intense preparation, studying from 9 AM to 6 or 7 PM most days. I also had to work on finding an internship and studying for potential interviews in the same time, meaning that my days were overall pretty busy. However, I made sure to take weekends off to recharge, spend time with friends, and keep a sense of balance. I’ve always believed that maintaining a social life and taking breaks is just as important as putting in the hours. It kept my mind sharp and my motivation high.

I chose TTP because it was recommended by friends who had achieved strong scores, and its structured approach appealed to me. The course is broken down into chapters, which made it easy to track my progress and stay motivated. I completed the entire study plan, focusing on both quant and verbal, and only skipped a few tests when I felt confident in the material. I didn’t use any other resources. I wanted to stay focused on a single material and avoid getting lost between several websites, Youtube videos or random documents.

The features that helped me the most were the chapter organization, which made it easy to recognize question types during the exam, and the detailed explanations for each question. Having both written and video explanations was a game-changer. It saved time and deepened my understanding.

With only a week left before my exam, I took three mock tests, scoring between 645 and 695. These results gave me the confidence I needed to walk into the test center feeling prepared.

On test day, I stayed calm, which is key for GMAT. I avoided overthinking any single question, trusting the strategies I had practiced. The test center was well-organized, and I’d recommend asking for two booklets to ensure you have enough space to work through problems. Thanks to my preparation, I felt ready for whatever came my way. If you are looking for a test center around Paris, do not hesitate to reach me and I’ll give you the address.

I scored 655 on my first attempt. While I’m happy with this result, I know I could have pushed closer to 700 with more time and practice. If I could do it again, I’d plan for at least a month after finishing the study plan to take more mocks and refine my approach.

What worked for me was the structured study plan, which built my confidence and ensured I was fully prepared. My background in English really helped with the verbal section, while TTP’s quant lessons allowed to catch up after years away from the kind of math GMAT uses. Studying with friends in a bootcamp-style setting also made the process more enjoyable and kept me motivated. I would definitely advise you to build a studying team, whether it is with your friends, or people you could meet through the forum.

For anyone preparing for the GMAT, my advice is simple: follow your study plan thoroughly, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and book your exam early to stay motivated. The GMAT is just one part of your application, so don’t let it overwhelm you. Trust the process, stay disciplined, and keep your focus on the bigger picture.

Good luck to everyone on their GMAT journey! If I can do it, so can you.
