Hi everyone,
I just had a really tough experience during my GMAT Online exam and wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through something similar, or knows how strict GMAC is about this.
During the optional break, I absentmindedly brought my mobile phone with me instead of leaving it in the exam room. When I came back, the proctor noticed and immediately canceled my exam. I wasn’t using the phone at all — it just slipped my mind and I carried it out with me by mistake. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to continue the exam.
Now I’m very worried about what the penalties might be:
- Will this only count as a canceled test, or could it result in a ban from taking the GMAT again?
- Will schools be notified about this violation?
- Am I able to reschedule another test right away, or is there a waiting period?
- Has anyone else experienced this and successfully retaken the GMAT?
I’ve already reached out to GMAC Customer Care to explain the situation, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people here about how GMAC usually handles cases like this. Any advice on next steps (and how best to approach this in communication with GMAC) would be super helpful.
