I wanted to share my GMAT Focus experience because reading debriefs on GMAT Club helped me stay motivated and informed during my prep. Hopefully this helps others who are in a similar situation.
I started my GMAT Focus preparation with a
615. After preparing with
Target Test Prep and solving 6 mocks, I finished with a
715. The biggest change for me was not just practicing more questions, but following a structured system that helped me truly understand how the test works.
Why Target Test Prep WorkedThe strongest part of TTP is its structure. There is never any confusion about what to study next or how much is enough. The study plan is very clear, and the progression from one topic to the next makes sense. This took a lot of uncertainty out of my preparation.
Quant The Quant course is extremely thorough and logically organized. Concepts are explained clearly, and difficulty increases in a controlled way. By the time I reached harder questions, I felt prepared rather than overwhelmed. I knew which concepts to apply and how to approach the problems efficiently.
Verbal The Verbal course was a major highlight for me. The way TTP structures
Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension made a big difference in my performance.
Critical Reasoning is taught using clear frameworks that focus on understanding the argument rather than memorizing tricks. Over time, common argument patterns became easier to recognize, and my accuracy improved significantly.
Reading Comprehension focuses on how to read actively and efficiently. The emphasis on passage structure, author intent, and question types helped me stay focused and manage time better.
This structured approach paid off. I ended up scoring
100 percentile in Verbal, which was something I did not think was possible when I started.
Features That Helped the Most Several TTP features played an important role in my improvement.
The
flashcards were very effective for reinforcing verbal concepts and key quant ideas. Reviewing them regularly helped with long term retention.
The
error log was especially useful. It forced me to analyze my mistakes and identify patterns instead of moving on too quickly. Fixing those recurring issues led to steady improvement.
The
chapter tests were well calibrated and gave me an honest sense of where I stood throughout the process.
I do also recommend solving 5-6 mocks before appearing for your exam.
Final Thoughts Target Test Prep It focuses on building real GMAT Focus skills, and the structure makes it easier to stay consistent and disciplined.
Improving from
615 to 715 felt daunting at first, but TTP made the path clear and manageable. I would strongly recommend it to anyone serious about improving their GMAT Focus score, especially those who want a structured and effective Verbal program.
