Hi officiadistinctio ,

Saw a post the other day, which I think would be applicable in your case:
Around 685 in mocks, aiming for 725 with 3 weeks left - need advice

The post linked below should also provide some useful advice:
How to improve your quant from Q78 to Q85?

To reach your dream score of 685, you need 4 more points from sectional scores combined. So while you specifically asked for Quant, getting a few more points in DI will certainly help. Here are some tips on DI:
How to Improve Data Insights (DI) Score from D75 to D82

For targeted practice, you can use the GMAT Club question bank, or the Forum Quiz as mentioned above.

All the best.

I’ve been studying for the GMAT consistently for eight months, using TPP and also practice questions from the official guide toward the end. Prior to this, I hadn’t touched a math problem in 15 years. My dream score would be a 685, with at least a decent result on Quant. I took the GMAT yesterday, with the following score-

655, V90, DI79, Q79

This is in line with the top end of my practice exam results, I took all 6, (though I consistently scored this high on verbal.) I have another test booked in a few weeks, as I was hoping to apply before the last deadlines this year, and wanted to have another shot should test day jitters put me far off on the first attempt. I’m within the range of my target school but not quite hitting the average.

I’m curious whether people have experience in making marginal gains with strategy and timing, or with efficient ways of reinforcing the learning I’ve already done to see if I can make some progress in quant over the next three weeks.

Thank you!

Hey - awesome V score!

I would suggest finding the smallest and your favorite and strongest quant topic such as fractions, distance and rate problems, or anything else and seeing if you can turn things around in one topic. By turn things around meaning solve easy questions faster or more harder questions correctly through a variety of approaches:

1. Can you help yourself graphically?
2. Can you improve by taking notes about the question?
3. Do you need help memorizing anything?
4. Do you need solving 10 questions of the same type of the format?

Spend a few days on one topic and see if you can see improvement and see if you can trace to what worked

The most important part is not to hate math. If you hate it, there is not much inroads that you will make. Have to work to want to learn it. This is like visiting in-laws in a new house they moved to with a GPS - you will never find it if you try as there is nothing good for you there and you don't want to go without being forced
