I have been visiting GMAT club frequently over the course of my GMAT preperation. I took the GMAT twice last summer, July and August 2006, and got 590 and 560. I put in four months of preperation altogether. I had no clue as to why my score actually decreased. I was using all the right material: OG11, OG Verbal/Math, PR and Kaplan. I had exhausted most of the exams and study material. So I decided to hit the "reset button" because I thought that had I burn't out.
I restarted my studying this past February and I did not change my style of studying significantly. I took couple of PR CATs to make sure my timing was okay and I scored 640 and 630. I revisited OG and also practiced out of SC/RC/CR 1000. To make the long story short, I gave my exam today and the result was a lot better than last time.
GMAT #1: 590 M44 V27 July 2006
GMAT #2: 560 M44 V23 Aug 2006
GMAT #3: 680 M46 V38 May 2007
I am still not sure as to how my Verbal score improved. I think I was more stressed and burn't out last time around than this time. Unfortunately I did not break the 700 barrier; no trophy for me

Nonetheless, I am glad with this score and will move on to the next phase of the application process for Fall08.
I want to thank all of you for your contribution to the GMAT club.
Goodluck.
