There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
First attempt was April 30th, 2007. Got a 640 on 2 months of self study. Timed the test horribly and ended up guessing on the last 7 quant and last 10 verbal.
I am planning on retaking the test. I signed up with Manhattan Review. Anyone have any experience with this company? I'm hoping this course, along with lots of self-study can bump me up to the next level.
My one concern is that I'm jumping back into retaking the test too quickly. Its only been a month since I last took the test.
Please provide feedback on your retake experience....
How many times? Time interval between tests? Score improvement?
Thanks for your help, this forum continues to be an excellent resource for me.
Got the same score (640, Q48, V29) on the 1May07! Again, as you, I have prepared less than 2 months.
My problem, however, was bad preparation and pressure from work.
I guess, how much time someone needs depend on your weaknesses, hours you can put during this period, and how fast you can learn.
If my work did not hinder, I would re-take 2 months after the first take.
How many times? > It depends on people. To give u a conventional limit, I read that 3 times is a maximum before appearing too much to the Adcoms. An important thing is to always achieve an increase of points.
Time interval between tests? > Some people are feeling that their achieved score is not reflective at all of their prep scores. In this case, these people retake it as fast as they can (after 1 month with respect to the GMAC policy). Other people consider their improvments and fixe a new test date with an approxive 2/3 months by 100 points. Arriving after 700, every 10 points demand a lot of efforts. So it's not rare to see a postpone if one is not yet ready.
Score improvement? > It's all up to u .... If u want to crack a 700+, u will need to discipline u and to learn form your mistakes. 6 months for does not appear to be weird for me.
