Hi guys,
How well does one need to know algebra to do well on this test? My algebra knowledge is pretty basic and when I look at the answers in the OG, I see so many algebraic ways of answering the questions when for me personally, its much easier to backsolve or use some other way. Thanks!

It depends on what score of Quant you're looking for. If you're seeking for 40+ then I don't think you can get over without learning the basic Algebra.
Backsolving and picking numbers may work for some questions, especially easy and/or medium difficulty bins; but for harder questions, you'll have to know algebric manipulations as questions will not neccessarily contain numebers.
Algebra is involved in number properties/comb & perm/stats/ geometry and all sorts of math topics.

Its also a time consideration. It is most likely possible to back solve most equations given enough time. But remember you need to complete the test or risk really screwing your score.
